This is going back a few years, but not a great place to deal with... and cost me more in lawyer fees than it was worth... I did not know I could leave a review. I had a truck transmission overhauled in Thunder Bay, roughly 8 years ago (I can not remember the dates exactly, but I could look them up) I sent someone to pick it up. It did not work. Simple as that. It was not overhauled. Not sure what they did. He went straight back, and dropped it off again. Long story short, the shop went bankrupt in the mean time. Our truck was trapped there. I was from out of town (we had various locations in business) and asked a friend in Thunder Bay to look into it for me. He did, but the truck was locked up and the shop closed up. Somehow he was able to get - a sheriff - if I remember correctly to let him in and retrieve the truck keys for me. This took about a month. Overall the truck was there for about 3 months. When we did get it back, same problem transmission was shot. Nothing had happened to it since we brought it back. I arranged for the truck to be shipped on a flatbed back to Sault Ste Marie. Once I had it back in our possession I called Mr .Transmission. They apologized etc, and said no problem, they would honour the warranty. But, I never received a warranty. Nothing. All we ever got from the person running the shop in .Thunder Bay was an estimate/quote and a Visa card receipt. No work order. It was still in the shop in Thunder Bay. This went back and forth for awhile. I even asked if we could get back into the shop, which was still closed, to see if we could get a hold of the work order. Nope. We weren't allowed. More emails. (I have all communications in writing by the way... )Longer story shorter... I had the transmission done by another shop. So, it cost me roughly $3000 for the transmission in Thunder Bay$1500 for flat bed service$2000 for lawyers fees$$$ other incidentals and time wasted. And I still had a broken vehicle. Plus the $3000 to have it repaired / overhauled again. Close to $10k by the time I was done. I could've taken them to court, spent more time and money, but you know what after their emails and talking with them, it was a cheap price to pay to walk away from them. I just enjoy now regaling my story to everyone that wants to hear it. I had no idea you could leave reviews like this online! What fun! They just won't stand behind their name. Just read their response... they still don't get it... too bad. this business was started by someone that did get it... that's why it is there.
