I used to work at the BBQ Factory. I was employed with them on the day they closed their doors. I'm not too sure who Fred is, but thank god for Fred, because he saved all of the BBQ Factory's recipes and opened up Fred's BBQ. The BBQ Factory used to have the best BBQ in town. Freds uses their old recipes and the new location almost has the same feel as the old BBQ Factory on 30th St. Fred's BBQ is hands down, the best place to get good BBQ in Bakersfield.

I don't know whether to be glad this place is 100 miles from my home so I don't become grossly overweight or sad because I can't eat there every day. We had the family meal for 4. There were 4 of us. The food didn't last long but we were very very happy. Eat here.

So good! The husband, 2 small kids and I shared the meat platter with a small side of cole slaw and bread. That was plenty, leaving room for their delicious cheesecake and carrot cake. We also recommend their brisket sandwich if you like fattier meat.
