Feedback:
BKC is a really cool spot to learn about photography or to get involved in the creative community. I like their monthly photo critiques and the Photo Café series with Seeing Collective. I'm really glad I am involved in this community. The photo industry can feel very isolating, and BKC is full of really cool people! The director, Justin Lin, is an amazing human
Feedback:
BKC is not only a school but a rad community that helps photographers meet and crit each other’s world. Check out Photo Cafe (talks with industry folks about different aspects of the photography world) which they host! And look out for their free crit nights! Always great to get feedback and show work over a beer or glass of wine :)
Feedback:
Cannot recommend this class enough. Justin is a phenomenal instructor who is clearly extremely knowledgeable. He runs a dynamic class that has the perfect balance of theory and practice. I can’t wait to practice what we learned and go back to take more classes soon.
Feedback:
I've been taking classes at BKC for more than a year and can say with full confidence that these classes are top notch. All of the teachers at BKC are skilled and talented photographers who treat their students with respect, patience and good humor. Teachers have excellent knowledge in their craft and share their information on a way that can easily be understood and absorbed. I am a loyal customer and highly recommend BKC to anyone wanting to learn more about the art and skill of photography.
Feedback:
Explore all aspects of the photographic arts at BKC Brooklyn Central in at their incredible new Bushwick studio space. This leading photography school for adults offers an array of courses taught by knowledgeable and talented teachers for pros and novices alike. Prior photography experience is NOT required, just an interest in the art form (iphoneography, anyone?). If you're extra lucky you might even land photography-wunderkind and BKC founder Justin William Lin as your teacher!
Feedback:
Invest in your photography education, career, and portfolio at BKC! It is a comfortable studio and ideal for students who want to learn from professionals who are kind, smart, and welcoming. The teachers are not intimidating and have expert experience. Their events are filled with a creative community of people who you want to get to know! They try offer free or price-friendly events for students that won't break the bank. The class "Embracing Your Curiosity" was perfect for the photography block that I was experiencing and made me feel confident in my work and ideas to produce images that BKC later featured on their blog.I also recommend renting their studio- the space is efficiently used, comfortable, professional, and affordable! The staff is cool about meeting to assure your session is productive and will allow you to bring your own equipment if you have it (they don't try to pressure you in renting their equipment).
Feedback:
This is a amazing place full of opportunities and a wonderful community. This place open the door to starting my adventure in NYC when I first moved here!
Feedback:
I love BKC! Great instructors in a friendly and professional hands-on learning environment. I've taken almost all the classes, which has given me the confidence and technical toolset to help me become a better photographer in studio and on the street. BKC also does a great job of building community and making people new to photo feel welcome. It seriously has been a life-changing experience for me. The classes are also very affordable, which is always a plus!
Feedback:
Took the crash course with the owner of BKC and had the best experience! He really helped us understand how the camera works and how to properly use it to get the best quality photos! Not only was he knowledge but very nice and made the class fun. Would absolutely go back for another course!
