This was the worst experience I've had with customer service; EVER. Upon entering the store (Slidell, La - Tyler St.) the lady was assisting a Caucasian customer. She never once acknowledged that my husband and I were in the store. So we waited and waited to be addressed, but to no avail. Once the other customer left the store, a young lady and man came from the back of the store with a baby; I assumed it was her family. The store associate began playing with the baby, still not acknowledging that we are there. She then walked away from the couple and the baby and started shuffling papers on the counter. After about a minute later, my husband suggested that we take our business somewhere else and we proceeded to exit the store. Upon exiting the store I advised that the employee close her doors for business if she didn't want to service black customers. It was evident that she refused to service us because we are black. Racism is a major problem in this area as to where it has trickled onto retail/business owners refusing service. It was very obvious that this was a true sign of racial discrimination. So if you are a person of color, I advise that you refrain from shopping at this establishment. If Embroid Me allows someone of this caliber to franchise, it leaves me to question the entire chain's character. Please believe me when I say that I will take this matter further because this is a pure sign of ignorance and it needs to stop!
