Feedback:

I spent a substantial amount of money on the class passes and didn't get to use them. Both corporate and the local email being provided will not give me responses or answer. This is a complete scam. I will be filing a complaint against ilovekickboxing and ilovekickboxing Ahwatukee with the Better Business Bureau. I will also be filing a complaint with the Arizona attorney general. I will also be considering further legal action/class action against ilovekickboxing.

I wish I could give this company 0 stars. I don't know where to begin but all I can say is BUYER BEWARE. I purchased 3 classes for $10 a while back. I finally attended my first class and fell in love with the workout and really liked the instructors so when they told me if I signed up after my first class (losing the other 2 I purchased) I would get a discount on the monthly pricing. Their "discount" left me at $165 monthly for unlimited classes. Whatever, I figured if I liked it and would be attending classes multiple times a week I'd make it worth the money. Fast forward to 2 months later, mid March... I attend a class on Friday the 15th after the $165 was charged to my bank account (gotta make it worth it, ya know?). So then two days later I'm scrolling on Facebook only to see the "ILKB VIP GROUP" has a new post from an Admin. The post was a long saga of how ILKB Massapequa was devastated to announce they were closing their doors THAT DAY. The kicker? The studio owner knew they'd be closing doors and no longer providing services from 3/17 forward, yet they were sure to hit myself and many other members' bank accounts for our monthly membership fees. I instantly panicked, I just gave them $165 two days ago for a month of unlimited services I wasn't going to receive?! YUP. They offered the option to "transfer your membership" but none of the studios were convenient for me and I had heard that they were a lot more crowded anyway so I decided to look into something else. Refunds would be processed "once all transfers were complete". I reached out to Ryan Healey as directed by the Facebook group admin and he was nice at first, explained that their legal and accounting team would need to look into each refund. I gave him a few weeks, then a month, and continued to follow up every once in a while then slowly Ryan became nasty and ultimately unresponsive. He has now had his out of office reply up for 2 months straight. After MONTHS of waiting for a refund check I finally posted in the ILKB Facebook group that my lawyer would be working with ILKB to get my refund and if anyone else needed help to reach out to me (many people did and the refunds owed were over $5,000 and ILKB was unresponsive to several other members). WHAT DO YOU KNOW- the very next day Refunds@ILKB reached out to me and had me send over my bank statement and sign some paperwork for my refund check to be cut. Two weeks later I hear people started getting their checks (FINALLY) - keep in mind this is now 3 months after the studio closed their doors. I email them to follow up (6/26/2019) and make sure my check was sent out and I didn't have to sign for it because I am not home during the day. I received the check a few days later on 6/29/2019 and used mobile deposit to put it into my bank account. Yesterday, I couldn't use my bank card and upon checking my account I see my account is overdrawn because the check was reversed and I was charged a fee on top of that. I called my bank immediately and I was told that ILKB's bank (JP Morgan Chase) would not cash my check as it was FRAUDULENT. WHAT?! I confirmed multiple times with my bank that there was no possible way it was an error on my end or their end and was told "no, this is directly from JPMC- the check cannot be cashed it's been flagged". I now reach out via email and Facebook AGAIN to ILKB and have yet to receive a call or hear anything back from them. This company is EXTREMELY unprofessional, unresponsive and absolutely careless. If you are looking for a good, fun workout I would say try kickboxing but I would say try it anywhere BUT here. They don't love kickboxing or their customers as much as they love money.

Is there anything below 1 star!?!?!?Worst possible business- location closes with a few hrs notice for good. Re-directs all members to another email address to discuss transferring to another gym or getting your refund. Really transfer and continue to pay when they to can close without notice too. Been over a month now and still no communication from their Head Office- 1 canned email response, 1 facebook post- you were quick to pull money and continue to do so, but horrible at communicating with those you have left in the dark about their refunds. Unacceptable!!! Taking them to the better business bureau and contacting media attention through social media and local means. Sure they don't want bad publicity at their other locations.
