Client Review on The Little Gym International, Inc.

Feedback:

This review is based on their birthday party packages, not the classes they offer. We’ve done birthday parties here two years in a row.The first year we went, we had no idea what to expect. The party package we got was $250 for an hour and a half (non member price). It covers printed invitations, games and activities, use of kid size gymnastics equipment, set up of all utensils/plates/juice boxes/balloons, help with the cake and serving, help with presents, they cover the clean up. When we got our invitations something was off. The ink wouldn’t dry.. just smeared all over the place. Two days later, still smudgy and powdery. I could wipe the printing off just by brushing my finger against it, it was bizarre. That was an easy fix and we just made our own invites. I believe we had the owners help us with our first party and they went above and beyond our expectations. They were very nice people. When we first got there the tables were set and decorated. There were also juice boxes set at each spot. They had fun games planned, wanted to know if any kids had food allergies (we had a gluten free child in attendance), helped with serving, and made a birthday throne out of the foam gym equipment. They made it so much fun for the kids and it was so enjoyable for us as well! The owners have some sort of magic when it comes to communicating with the kids and everything went so smooth it was almost unbelievable. It was worth every penny and we knew we’d use Little Gym the following year! This next birthday, when we got our invitations the first thing I checked was the ink. No smudges! However, the day before the party I learned that a portion of the invitations had an incorrect number to RSVP and some parents couldn’t get ahold of me. That is partially my fault for not checking each individual card. I checked a few and they were correct so went ahead and set them to school. When we got there the tables were set but we didn’t have the owners to help this time. We had two younger girls who were still very nice and good with the kids. After the activities is where quite a bit of inconsistency happens. The kids sat down and were so thirsty from playing. That’s when I noticed there was no juice. I asked one of the girls if they still offered juice she said she would go check and see if they still had any. She came back and handed me a big bulk box of juice. I told them that last time we had help with serving the cake and doing presents and asked if that was still part of the package. They said no but they could help if we needed them too. I told them yes and they put out a chair and a gym mat by the presents and then sat behind the desk and talked the rest of the time. No help with serving, no help with the hungry thirsty kids, no help managing the situation with opening presents. The first visit we had was great because there were enough adults helping the excited antsy children. This time was a zoo. I’m not upset with the employees that we had at our party. They were still very nice girls and I appreciate the time they did activities with the kids. But for $250 there are some major inconsistencies with what comes with their birthday package. I don’t know if we got the royal treatment the first time or shafted the second time. Unfortunately, I’m sad to say we will not be using Little Gym for our birthday parties anymore. The price is not justified if our second experience is the norm.
