Just returned from the Secret Garden that is the Southwest Surf House.This place is the antidote to all that is stressful; a truly magical spot where all sense of time fades away in a melting pot of laughter, music, conversation and shared experience.The vibe of the house made flesh comes in the form of Raff, Fraser and G (Georgia). A crack team of hosts who have you feeling at home from the moment you arrive. Raff runs the show with a calm demeanour that masks the great skill with which he orchestrates an awesome experience for all-comers. Fraser is the quintessential Imp who tip toes from guest to guest ensuring that everyone is having a great time on their own level; by day he’s helping you either read the surf or to fling yourself backwards off a bridge (or likely both), by night you’re only too happy to dance to his tune through the amazing Hossegor night life. G is nothing short of a sorceress in the kitchen; I have never even imagined that vegetables could be elevated to the level dished out as standard at the Surfhouse. Her food is healthy, plentiful and served with a generous helping of great chat.Having never surfed before I was nervous about feeling like a bit of a fraud. Of course, I needn’t have worried as both the hosts and fellow guests alike were so accommodating and always keen to share, teach or learn, (plus the local spot has a cracking surf school).The beach is only a 2 min roll down the hill from the house on any one of the ‘vintage’ bikes kept in the ample stable; whilst there are always lots of bikes you can’t help but form a bit of a fondness for your stallion of choice - so choose wisely!An amazing time was had by all. Sorry to leave and keen to return!!!

All good things at Southwest Surfhouse! As soon as we arrived, we felt welcomed by Raff and Fraser in this beautiful and comfortable house, with such a relaxed atmosphere. There's attention to every detail and the result is that you feel at home. Good location, you can reach the beach and the shops in few minutes. They also provide you with bikes, surfboards and wetsuits, and you can use them whenever you want to. And at home G., the chef, cooks incredible food! All the staff is truly amazing. Right place for the perfect holiday, we enjoyed each day there. A huge thank you!This is a magical place I would recommend to stay in!

Arrive as a guest and leave as part of the family!Southwest Surfhouse is a truely magical place. From the moment you arrive you start to unwind and relax. My partner and I spent 6 nights here and wished we stayed forever. From car park salsa lessons to sunset surfs, daily ice cream stops to the most unbelievable home cooked meals you will ever eat- this place has it all sorted! The hosts- Raff, Georgia and Frazer- are a major part of what makes this spot so unforgettable. These legends instantly make you feel at home and your mind starts to plot how exactly you can quit your job and never leave.Frazer is the ultimate surf host. Any worries you come with fade away after one day with this guy. I’m not a strong surfer, but felt completely at ea when out in the water with this guy. His daily ice cream ritual brings everyone together and usually ends with a bridge jump, or a rosè session in town. Georgia, or G, the house chef has an infectious happiness. Her passion for fresh healthy food comes out in her cooking and it’s the best food you will eat on your whole trip. We learnt so much from G during our stay and she even included us in the cooking one night! Her skills in the kitchen are only a fraction of what this girl has the offer- she will have you in stitches from laughter and is the most beautiful soul. And Raff. What a guy. He keeps he ship afloat and makes sure everyone is looked after and feels at home. He always has the time to chat with every guest and offers local tips. Any problem you have this guy will offer a solution. He even drove us into town to check out a wine shop with us as he knew we would love it! We travelled here as a couple with minimal surfing skills (my partner doesn’t surf at all) and had the best week of our lives. There’s always a group activity to get involved in- be it bridge jump, salsa lessons, yoga class- and if you want to do your own thing for an afternoon, grab one of their many bikes and explore. You don’t even realise how much exercise and activity you are doing, and paired with the amazing food, you’ll leave feeling nourished and refreshed. Saying goodbye was the hardest, made easier knowing I’ll definitely be back! Until next time legends! Xxx

This is the first time my partner and I have stayed anywhere like this. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with such a warm welcome and inducted into the ‘family’ that is South West Surf House. I personally don’t even surf and I have still had the best time. You can go about and do an array of activities such as chilling on the beach, bike riding, cafè, drinking wine, lazing around in hammocks etc. We stayed for one week and wished we could stay for more. Shout outs to the legends who run the house-Babe and in-house chef extrordiare Georgia. She prepares most amazing food and has inspired me to cook more when I return home. She even let me jump in the kitchen with her and taught me new techniques and cooking styles. Plus her banter is level 10 and she is such a caring soul. Ciao Bella xoFrasier. Oh my god that guy oozes cool. Such a legend and joker. I had many a jam session with the guitars and good laughs. He helped me to be a more chilled person in just one week (I was still thinking about work and stressed if home life when I arrived and he knocked that rubbish out of me). Beers soon my friend!The captain of the ship. The show pony salsa champion of the world. Raff. What a champion that guy is. Looked after us so well. Things like picking us up and dropping us off when we arrived to taking me to a wine shop across town because he knew I loved the vinos. Thanks so much for having us bro. Until next time legends. Amazing time with amazing people, there's something for everyone. Between the dedication of the surf guides and the excellent food the place really is superb ;) Even when there is no surf the hosts have enough magic tricks and games up their sleeves to keep everyone going. For the week i was there it felt like i was living the dream.
