I took my 2003 Chevy Silverado to the AAMCO in Colmar, PA in February of 2017 because my transmission went. I spent $2700 to have it completely rebuilt. It still never ran right after they rebuilt it, it would not pick up speed, I was lucky to do 40-45mph uphill, and it would make a jerking motion all the time. I took it back and let them know it wasn't right, but they insisted everything was done correctly. I even gave them more business that spring when we had an issue with our Acura, and spent another $2500 with their company. It is now 2 1/5 years after having a brand new transmission put in and it just went again. The basic warranty was only for 18 months, I didn't get an extended warranty, I trusted the work that this company did, and the mechanic assured me they stand behind their work as well. Apparently their work is only good for 2 1/5 years, and since I am out of the warranty period there is nothing to be done. I understand that I am out of the warranty, but I think it is ridiculous that I spent that much on a transmission that went again after only 2 1/5 years. The Colmar location has since shut down, no doubt because they were doing such a horrible job on customer's vehicles, I absolutely regret not getting a second opinion when I was still in the warranty. My advice would be to not do any business with AAMCO, they will charge you a fortune for something just to have it breakdown again 2 years later. I may not be able to do anything about my situation with them, but I can at least warn others to stay away and go with a different company.
