Client Review on Fairway Divorce Solutions (Canada)
Feedback:
Update: went to court yesterday using the separation agreement prepared by Fairway and lost the marital home and also ended up with half the line of credit. The Judge essentially said the agreement was horrible in that it didn't appropriately address the largest asset of our 17 year marriage, the home and sale. This cost me dearly. I would never recommend using this business based on my experience. Do so at your own risk. I would have been so much better off using a lawyer from the start. In the end I had legal fees, lost the home for no compensation, got half the LOC. Which incidentally was used for the home renovations and landscaping. The agreement was a joke that in the end did not protect me and the weaknesses in the agreement were fully exploited by my exes lawyer. My review is back to 1 star based on the comments from the Judge and my experience. Still wish I had used lawyers in my situation, no real resolution. For me it was not worth it, there was key information missed that was part of our negotiated settlement that was then not included in the final separation agreement, nor communicated to me that it was removed. That lack of communication led to me paying around 25k in extra expenses that I should not have paid and will likely never see.Update - the Owner of the company has contacted me and is working with me for a resolution. She cares about customer support and the ultimate resolution of my concerns. I will leave the original post below as is and will update in the future once my concerns have been addressed. Nightmare! Get a lawyer! I used their services roughly 3 years ago and am now embroiled in a horrible struggle to get what is owed to me out of the relationship. My ex still lives in the house we jointly owned in the mariage my equity is tied up in the mortgage and there is no end in sight. Lesson learned never take the easy route. This process would/could work if both individuals truly want to work together, it doesn't work if one party in the divorce is out to take you for everything and is unreasonable.
