-2 stars for a disastrous prescription-2 stars for a nonexistent follow up.I chose to see Dr. Moses Laufer for low strength/endurance/weight and a varying sense of well-being and mental clarity. I took some blood tests, came back a month later, and he prescribed some T3 (liothyronine). I took the smallest dose for four days. The drug made me feel as if I was dying. It took me several weeks of blood pressure-reducing herbal supplements to feel close to normal again. It may have caused permanent damage to my heart. It will definitely take a while more to regain my endurance. My new cardiologist said thyroid hormones are potentially very dangerous and definitely did not recommend them.It has been over a month since I stopped taking the drugs and began attempting to contact the doctor. I have emailed and called his assistant several times. She told me a couple times on the phone that the doctor would call me back. I still haven't heard from him.If you're looking to resolve acute symptoms or resolve a disease with potentially specific solutions, try the concierge general practitioner Doctor Thomas LaGrelius in Torrance. If you want better long term health to resolve chronic issues try a doctor specializing in functional medicine.

This place has changed my life! Dr. Lisa Hunt has been amazing! I struggled with chronic fatigue and hormonal issues to name a few things. After multiple appointments with my primary care and OB (both of which said I was tired because I have 4 kids and should take a vacation) I was recommended by a friend to Dr. Lisa. She was so attentive as I described my symptoms and never made me feel insignificant or dumb. She ran every test possible, it felt (none of which my other drs would do) and found I had a thyroid issue, low iron and vitamin D, low cortisol, a few other things along with 4 respiratory infections, all which cause fatigue!! I've been taking multiple supplements for 5 months now and feel amazing!!! My energy is back, my hormonal swings are good, cravings are better and I feel like the old me. I so appreciate how available Dr. Lisa and the staff are whenever I have a question! My appointments are over the phone because we live a few hours away but that hasn't compromised my level of care. I cant say enough great things about Dr. Lisa and Holtorf Medical Group. It's been expensive but you can't put a price on your health and I feel GREAT!!

I have been a patient at the Holtorf center for at least 3 years. My experience has been wonderful as my thyroid, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue is improving. I am now able to function and even work out on a regular basis. Dr. Wrightman has been amazing and I always leave there with sound knowledge and insight. The office manager and staff are dedicated and genuine in their care and willingness to provide the best. As of late I had the honor to meet Dr. Holtorf and what a refreshing experience this has been, I was delighted and impressed with his focus and ability to communicate. He is not only a brilliant Physician, but an open and genuine communicator with the ability to understand, a genuine being with a sincere desire to provide the absolute best experience for his patients. I felt cared for and understood.

I saw Dr. Holtorf two years ago four times(he got 5 STARS then).In my visits I was able to speak with Dr. Holtorf with much ease, he was very knowledgeable and positive about my recovery which lightened my mood everytime. Dr. Holtorf gave me excellent advice for my Thyroid issue. He discussed all options and let me decide what I felt was best for me along with his own recommendation which consisted of a lot of lab work. Ive been feeling great for the past two years. Ive been taking all the 50 supplements he reccomended plus, plus, everything else.I had to move back home to Colorado but I always read new information from his website. I was hoping to have a visit with him again, now that im in town for a while, but when I called his office and was left on hold for quite some time, I was informed he no longer sees patients. WHAT?My phone call to his office was not pleasant like before. I was told I was spaeking to patient coordinator, she took down my name and number to call me back, its been since Monday, and still no call back. I decided to write this review because I read all the bad YELPs he's had this year. I wish I had a Yelp account but I usually dont belive in Bad talking. Im so sorry Dr.Holtorf is no longer there.

New to the area, it was time to set up our new family doctor. This place had decent reviews and seemed professional, so I decided to go ahead and give it a try. The doctor I met with was very intelligible. We did a basic yearly exam. During and after the exam she was very patient and answered all of my questions. This is a very important attribute since I ask over the average amount of questions and usually talk a little more than I should. All in all, I found my new long term doctor and am very satisfied. I would recommend to anyone looking.

The staffs are kind and friendly. Location is accessible and the place is clean and most of all the Doctor that I consulted with is very knowledgeable and professional. Coming here at Holtorf Medical is a perfect decision. This place is highly recommended.

Awesome, awesome place for thyroid, weight loss solutions. I have been bouncing around between doctors from Hoag, UCLA, etc. Seeing specialist after specialist with no results. Holtorf Medical Group finally got me the results I was seeking. They definitely know what they are doing, care about patients and produce REAL RESULTS!!!
