I do a small amount of DIY and repair work with odd fabrication projects from time to time. I can always count on the big box stores for nuts and bolts, small selections of sheet metal and angles. However, sometimes I need something specific, larger sheets, special alloys, hot rolled or cold rolled or a thick aluminum bar. That's where Metal Supermarkets comes in. I rely on Metal supermarkets for expert advice, special metals and convenience. I can shop on line and get rapid price quotations or I can call and have access to any kind of metal in the entire country. Metal Supermarkets also have access to shops for fabrication, special cuts and bends, etc. Best of all, Metal supermarkets is an all-in-one operation; I send them drawings for a part, with the material callout, Metal supermarkets gives me a price, we agree and a couple of days later I get to pick up my part. Thanks guys!

They say they stock thousands of metals. I called in with off the shelf steel tubing item. It took them 2 hours to return my call. I called qt 7:30 am as soon they opened. Spoke with troy gave him the spec. I called an hour later asking fir pricing and availability. Troy answered. He said they don't have an answer and said they are helping other that were ahead of me. I called at exactly 7:30 am the minute they opened. 2 hours later Mark called and said it will 300$ for a 20$ item. Bottom line they don't stock off the self items nor they are competitive. Mark was very helpful. This is the only local place I could find 1095 Steel. It's pre-cut to 12" lengths and very affordable, highly recommended for all the other knife makers out there.

I needed Stainless Steel Tread Plate for a component on a project we were fabricating. My other suppliers strung me along for 2 weeks just to tell me that they could not get this material for me. Metal Supermarkets found the material and had it ready for me in 3 days. I kick myself for not calling them sooner. Here is a pic of the plate welded on our Speed Loader Plate.

Horrible experience over the phone with Eric. When I asked for a base price on stainless steel he started raising his voice and speaking to me like i was a kindergartener. Do not recommend this place nor will i ever purchase from here. Go somewhere else.

Horrible customer service by Eric Gorven who was super rude as I tried to figure out sizes and prices! I was there a mere 10 minutes and he stated his time was too expensive! Buy somewhere where they appreciate your business
