About - Roto-Rooter

Mike Higgins, Director Franchise Development
300 Ashworth Rd. | West Des Moines, Iowa, 50265-3737

In 1933, Samuel Blanc created a funny-looking sewer cleaning machine from a 1/6 HP Maytag washing machine motor, roller skate wheels and 3/8" cable to turn the blades.

The device used a combination of special blades or "knives" to cut tree roots out of sewer lines. No digging was required. A year later, Sam's wife Lettie christened the prototype the "Roto-Rooter."

Overall Feedback:

Trash drain cleaning company, charge too much, under trained techs. Will lie to you about the work they performed if you dont watch them work. No type of warranty if they dont fix the issue and have to come back the next day they charge you more. If you need a good drain cleaning company try Smith's sewer service or bee line drain cleaning.
