Just received a phone call after having just graduated from college trying to set me up with a contract position with Wal-Mart. Seemed legit, until the questions became more and more invasive: Demanding my middle name when they already had first/last, complete address and zip code, last four of my SSN, driver's license info, birthdate... aside from the address, none of these are required on an application, let alone when they're the ones calling you first. When I told him I wouldn't be giving him any of the information he requested, he became very agitated and insistent that I give him the information, or I would be walking away from a wonderful opportunity. Anyone else would understand my hesitation and wouldn't push for it. Now, I've applied to Wal-Mart directly, as well as for companies that I know do hiring/training for them, and they require none of this information. I'd be very wary of doing business with them.
