I've been here and the Southport location many times, and both consistently raise the bar.Sam at 600 N. Kingsbury is incredibly patient and detail-oriented, and was quick to offer guidance on stylist without any pressure to purchase additional product at the end of the appointment. Beyond perfect service.Ann at the same location offered a quick, no-nonsense cut that looked like I'd spent an hour in the chair. Top-quality work done effortlessly, and with fun conversation.

Marcella is horrible. Do not go here. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Hands down. The stylist Marcella Was clearly disgruntled and having an awful day. When I sat down she never asked me how I was doing. She proceeded to give me the most basic haircut you could ever asked for which was a bald head. She argued with me about how to do it because it appears that she’s never cut anyone’s hair that was slightly ethnic. I was polite the entire time and she nonetheless argued with me back-and-forth And kept pointing to her 25 years of experience. I have never been treated so poorly in any experience in my life. Plus a simple baldhead (10 minutes cut) cost $35. Completely overpriced. Do not go here.

Fantastic spot for getting a haircut! I mean... I’m pretty bald, but I really like the attention to detail that Joey C. gives while clipping my hair every time. And the hot towel shave is amazing! I can not recommend this barber shop enough. If you’re a guy in Chicago, I highly recommend it!

Everything about State Street Barbers is perfect. I booked right online an hour in advance and it was super easy. Easy to get to and nice classic, barbershop feel in a cool space. For what a haircut can cost in the city this place was very, very reasonable reasonable. AJ did an amazing job, asked throughout my haircut if I liked it, and fun to talk with. For a cut, shampoo, hot towel and style I paid $30 before tip. For the location, prices, and good service, I would say this is the best barber shop in the city.
