Client Review on Shula

Feedback:

Shula’s Steakhouse Keeps Sliding Downhill! The quality of the food is decant the steaks are excellent! I can get better service at Chillis or even Denny’s. I have to admit I am shocked this 5 star dinning has such poor waiters and managers. We got to our table and immediately the assistant waiter filled our water glasses. We are on the start to a nice evening. The main waitress takes our order and disappears. No really, she actually disappears, we never saw her again the entire evening. I had to get my own refills of water and soda by walking to the bar, since she never showed up after she took our order. The food arrived by another waiter. Again, our waitress or manager never checked up on us to see how we are doing or if the food was to our liking (A standard practice at fine dining restaurants). Again, I had to walk to the bar to get refills on water and soda. You would think another water or a manager would even realize a customer keeps walking to the bar to get drink refills. NOPE! The waitress arrived from the kitchen with our check and dropped it off without saying a thing. I turned to her and said “Welcome Back, It’s nice to see you again.” She turned to me and said “have a nice night.” HERE IS THE ISSUE: This restaurant automatically includes an 18% gratuity on the check. THERE IS NO INSENTIVE TO GET GOOD SERVICE! A restaurant like Shula’s should always have good service, it is supposed to be a fine dining. ($52 for one steak, $12 for a side) we expect good service! But, think about it, the gratuity is already guaranteed. Why bother actually providing good service? It’s not like they own Shula’s, what do they care if you come back or not. I also blame the manager, since he allows this type of service to happen right under his nose. If he doesn’t realize what’s happening, he is negligent. Either way management needs to change. The night before I went to a restaurant called the “Lobster Bar” in Miami Beach, another expensive 5 star dining restaurant. I had one waiter and assistant waiter serve us throughout the dinner. The level of service was amazing! Service you would expect from this level of dinning. The bill came and to my surprise the gratuity was not included. You mean these waiters actually had to earn their money by actually providing amazing service. I am so glad this restaurant didn’t include gratuity in their bill, because I decided to give them a 30% gratuity to the standard 18% that would have been added if they were like Shula’s which adds the gratuity automatically. Shula’s needs to rethink the automatic added gratuity idea and either replace or retrain ALL the wait staff at the Miami Lakes Shula’s and get new management! This place is a mess!
